"If I am here for your joys, then I will be here for your sorrows."
-Kahlil Gibran
Welcome to Gentle Garden Psychotherapy. Amid the breeze and sun warmth, a garden can offer comfort in life’s turbulence. It is a place to nurture wishes, grieve losses, and celebrate growth against all odds. I want therapy to feel like a soft place to land. A comforting, connecting space for you and your loved ones through life’s ever-changing seasons. In therapy, you may speak what you've had to whisper or keep quiet. You may exhale without the weight of social scrutiny. Supportive connection cultivates growth and sows relief. I hope together we can find a way to the sunlight and continue onwards through the heartbreak, confusion and loss. May tears water the hopeful seeds of spring.
I specialize in working with children, teens, and adults struggling with chronic stress, low self worth, loneliness, trauma/complex PTSD, neurodivergence, and burnout. I provide child therapy, teen therapy, couples therapy and therapy for adults in-person at my office in Pleasanton. I offer the comfort needed to unearth the sources of pain and stress, and clarify what has happened to help bring some relief. I am a compassionate witness and also a fierce protector.
Child Therapy
I support kids through play therapy, sand tray therapy, and the creative arts to help them grow their understanding of feelings and express themselves. I hold space and reverence for the challenge of growing up at this time. I extend kindness and compassion as I help children in processing and untangling pain, loss, and confusion. I believe all people, especially children, deserve recognition for their unique strengths and qualities. I view parents as the experts in their child’s life. I am available to provide support to parents and be a bridge in relating. We can explore generational stressors or trauma that could surface in the present, as well as generational gifts to honor and pass forward.
Teen Therapy
In a loneliness epidemic, sometimes the worst kind of isolation is a disconnection from self. Toxic shame fragments. Anxiety and depression make the path ahead foggy. Systemic oppression can lead to feeling disembodied. I can support young people in discovering their truth, while cultivating a gentle stance toward themselves. My approach to therapy is strength-based, LGBTQ2SIA+ affirmative, intersectional, and trauma-informed. I help teens connect with their interests and hopes, and process harmful societal messaging that often has required conformity.
Adult Therapy
I wish to fully know the pain your heart cannot speak and the joy you want to pursue. Achingly apparent in present times, anguish and uncertainty have become knitted into the fabric of our existence. The vast unknown may feel groundless at times. It makes perfect sense to consider expanding your support network. We were not meant to journey alone through unfamiliar terrain. I am here to help you explore the gray ambiguity of life, be your guide into the shadowy places, and rebuild, brick-by-brick, your chosen home.
Couples Therapy
My intention when working with couples is to support partners/spouses in exploring family of origin dynamics (our first relational maps), contextual impacts, and mend resentments, while strengthening communication to help unify around shared hopes and vision. I help couples identify triggers influencing current interactions, clarify roles in problematic relational patterns, and collaborate to shift conflicts and bring more harmony. Relationships can provide many opportunities to nurture and heal past attachment injuries, whether from early caregiving experiences or previous intimate partnerships. I am trauma-informed, neurodivergent affirming, and LGBTQ2SIA+ affirming.
About Me
When looking for a therapist, a felt sense of safety is of utmost importance. For this reason, I want to share a little about myself to help you and/or your loved ones feel safer: I have a humble spirit. I think you know the most about yourself, your loved ones, and your life's landscape. I understand looking for belonging and joy in a society that seeks to marginalize and indignify difference. I am queer, neurodivergent, and multiethnic: Native American (Rarámuri aka Tarahumara), Mexican-American, with Jewish roots. I find hope and perseverance in movement, and spend my time strength training, dancing ballet, and running to connect to ancestral power. I honor the relationships people build with nature and animals. I believe in the power of connection and communication to comfort, heal and uplift. It would be my honor to be a supportive connection on your journey.
